This is a Windows remake of a PC-98 horror adventure game. It was released episodically on the PC in Japan from March 2008 to July 2011. An enhanced port of this release called Corpse Party Blood Covered:...Repeated Fear was developed by Team GrisGris and 5pb., creators of Steins;Gate, for the Playstation Portable in 2010. The PSP port included some enhanced graphics, new voice work, and added a 5th chapter that ended the story. XSEED localized and published the PSP release as a PSN only title in North America in 2011 and renamed the game to simply Corpse Party. It's about a group of high school friends in Kisaragi Academy which was built on the grounds of Tenshin Elementary School, which was demolished after a string of disappearances and gruesome murders. After a mysterious earthquake, the students find themselves trapped in an alternate reality Tenshin Elementary School, where the murders of others trapped before them have continued unabated. The current Windows release is up to chapter 5. In April/2016, an English version was released. In addition to the four bonus chapters, one of which is a PC-exclusive retelling of the “Tooth” story from Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, recreated with added content. Over 5,000 lines of spoken Japanese dialogue from the original indie voice cast complement the action, giving new spins on familiar characters for series veterans. In addition, the original PC-exclusive character art is fully intact, and dedicated players seeking every ending are given a speedy fast-forward function to make replays a breeze. | ||
