To meet the need for an information-driven multimedia reference source, Future Vision Multimedia announces InfoPedia, a new CD-ROM reference tool. Designed for users in need of fast access to as much information as possible, InfoPedia combines all 29 volumes of the Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia with seven other reference sources, all on a single CD-ROM, making it a highly comprehensive multimedia reference tool. What's more, a unique new single-screen interface makes it easy to use.
Fox explains the four objectives for the new title: to combine an encyclopedia with a bookshelf of reference titles, to offer access to these sources through a simple single-screen interface, to provide more video clips and animations than any other reference title, to provide all this in a product that would sell for less than encyclopedia-only CD-ROMs.
In addition to the encyclopedia, InfoPedia features the following reference materials: Merriam-Webster's Dictionary, Webster's New Biographical Dictionary, the World Almanac & Book of Facts, the Merriam Webster's Dictionary of Quotations, Roget's 21 st Century Thesaurus, Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of English Usage, and the Hammond World Atlas.
InfoPedia offers over 150 state-of-the-art animations and full-motion video segments to help explain complex concepts. The program also includes thousands of full-color photographs and hours of audio to support its reference database of more than 200,000 entries. … |
