Q*bert: Rebooted Gonzo Games, Sideline Amusements 2014

This combines the original Q*bert arcade game (Classic) with a Rebooted version. The original version is identical to the initial arcade game. Players guide the character Q*bert as he needs to change all tiles on an isometric cube pyramid to a target colour to complete levels. Tiles are connected and have a maximum of four directions to hop to a new one. Each tile he lands on changes colour. Early stages have a limited amount of colours, but later ones require multiple hops to get the correct colour. Meanwhile he needs to dodge enemies (Coily, Ugg, Slick, Sam, Wrong Way and Red Ball) that also move around. There are also falling balls to avoid. Enemies can be lured off the pyramid by jumping on a floating disc near the side of the pyramid, causing them to fall off while Q*bert re-appears on the other side. The Rebooted 3D game mode changes the tiles from squares to hexagons, offering six points of directions to move instead of the classic four. It also has a modern visual style with crisp graphics and smooth colours. This mode introduces thirty levels, seven new playable characters (Q*zard, Q*bertha, Q*bot, Q*zilla, Q*tee, Q*knight and Q*nicorn) and three new enemies (Homer, Uppercut and Treasure Chest). Completing levels in this mode is not enough to advance. It uses a three-star rating system where more than one star is needed to keep unlocking new levels. A star is awarded for completing a level, reaching a certain high score, and not exceeding the time limit. After each completed level a bonus level is played to earn gems. These are used to unlock the new characters, which differ only cosmetically. There are also various power-ups and traps.
