Armadillo Run Armadillo Run 2006

This is a physics-based puzzle game that requires player to move an armadillo (pictured as a simple ball) to the blue area and hold it there for five seconds. To achieve that goal player is given resources represented by various building materials: Rope, Cloth, Metal bar, Metal sheet, Elastic rope, Rubber and Rockets. Those items must be used to create a certain structure to guide armadillo to the blue zone. The game is similar to Pontifex series in a sense that each material has its own set of properties. So not only material's functionality must be taken into account, but it's durability as well. Incorrectly built structures have all chances to collapse under their own weight. Other properties include: stretching, flexibility, tensile strength and compressive strength. Player is limited to the amount of materials he can use by the budget. The less number of items the player uses in solving the puzzle the less amount of money will be withdrawn from his account, consequently giving player a higher budget for the levels to come. Apart from using materials the game offers different editing modes that are designed to help player in his progress. They include: Structural, Tension and Timer. Structural mode allows player to place new links in the game area, thus creating new structures. Tension is used to adjust the starting tension/compression of the links. And Timer will make a certain link self-destruct after a pre-set period of time. The game plays much like The Incredible Machine series challenging the player with the progression of levels, each becoming available once the requirement of the previous one was met. The difficulty is growing up with the level number as well. The total number of levels is 50. However, since the time of the game's release, countless enthusiasts have created their own custom levels available for download at then official website.
