House, The BlazeHedgehog 2006

Plainly put, The House was developed as an experiment and a challenge to myself to make a game that is genuinely scary. Though viewed from an overhead isometric camera angle, my goal was to make the player feel immersed and connected to the world in which he was playing through. Rather than shuttle the player along a linear pathway, The House itself could be considered free roaming; the player has access to the entire house at once and is free to explore it as they please. As you do this, the game dynamically generates scares in order to ensure that no two games play the same way twice. Very little in this game is scripted. Whether or not it is actually scary is purely up to you, the player.
