Autumn receives her grandfather's antique store as an inheritance. While exploring the place, she finds pages of a journal with directions to rare antiques hidden around the world. She decides to travel and recover these artifacts, to discover more about her grandfather's past. Autumn's Treasures: The Jade Coin is a hidden object game with adventure elements. The main goal is to find and click on all the pieces of tools and other objects scattered throughout the scenery, to reassemble them in the inventory at the bottom of the screen. The pieces are automatically placed inside the object's silhouette, that has a green meter showing the progress of its reconstruction. After they are complete, the objects can be used as in most graphic adventures, by dragging and dropping from the inventory to logical portions of the scene. Each location is comprised of several static screens, where the player can move between rooms and explore the place in a typical point-and-click fashion, by clicking on obvious exit hotspots like doors and other openings. In some instances, a puzzle appears on a separate screen where a mechanism of some sort has to be manipulated directly to solve it. The hint button is a ruby amulet that shines a beam of light on one of the required pieces when clicked, showing its exact position. It takes some time to recharge after use. |
