This edutainment offering, targeting the educational needs of the First Grade student. It's a game-filled environment of learning opportunities. Kids can start at the playground to play the Math Marble Game, the Milk Cap trading game, or help the dog Frankie find the items he's buried. Or, if the student prefers to enter the lunch room, there is the Pizza Picker and Measuring games. Then serve up fractions for lunch or play the Cash Register game. It's all about learning and having fun in the process. In the classroom, a library of story books awaits. Play with paints, stickers, or jump on board the field trip bus. There are dozens of opportunities in JumpStart First Grade to increase reading, writing, arithmetic, language, and arts skills for five-to-seven year-old students. It was the first appearance of Frankie, a brown, anthropomorphic dog who would go on to become the mascot of the JumpStart series. It contains the voiceover and singing talents of Mark Beckwith of Razzle Bam Boom and Glynnis Talken Campbell including the songs My Friend and Vegetables. It was updated significantly in 2000 and was replaced by JumpStart Advanced 1st Grade in 2002, which was later replaced by JumpStart 3D Virtual World: Trouble in Town. |
