This features a never used before brand for video-games and perfect reconstruction of stop-motion TV series assets in interactive world. Pat & Mat (original names in Czech Kutaci, ... A je to!, Pat a Mat) is a Czech stop-motion animated series featuring two handymen, Pat and Mat (Czech for "Stalemate" and "Checkmate", respectively). The show features the two characters facing mostly a self-made problem, trying to solve it using any possible and impossible tools and constructing gadgets, which leads to more problems. Yet, eventually, the two manage to get a working result with a mostly surprising solution. The humour is not the only feature of the show, another feature is having an optimistic approach towards life. The two characters always get into problematic situations but they never give up, until they solve the problem in imaginative ways. The player, taking control of Pat and Mat characters, solves various tasks in the game. The very basic controls are similar to strategy or adventure (“point-and-click”) games. Click on the hammer on the table and character will pick it up, click on the door, someone will open it (or tell you that you need the key first). Pat and Mat have been recreated in 3D computer art and dozens of animation sets including typical gestures and animations from the TV series. Although the game is 3D rendered in real time, it still looks like a very stylish stopmotion movie. There's a huge amount of "mini-games" and "micro-games". |
