Tale Of Two Kingdoms, A Crystal Shard 2007

King's Quest II ½ (SCS): A Tale of Two Kingdoms was going to be an unofficial fan-made game that was being developed by Solar Crescent Studios, however it was suspended in that form, and was then developed as a non King's Quest Game. The game as it was originally was being made, was to be set between King's Quest II and King's Quest III. You are Maeldun Whiteblade, who three years ago stopped the bloody conquest of King Vortigern. It's Autumn Equinox and celebrations are in order. The memories of the war with the kingdom of Theylinn have almost faded. You drink your mead, enjoy the delicious harvest and share horror stories of the Fair Folk with your companions. Perhaps from now on, life will be quiet and boring - just the way you have always wished it to be. But suddenly a messenger arrives, telling you that your old enemy needs your help. The goblins are attacking their border and if Theylinn falls, it might mean the end of your peaceful lands also. Troubled by these news, you accept the call for help. As you stand on the deck of the ship, you know deep inside of you that there is more to this than meets the eye. For hidden within the borders of Theylinn lies a second kingdom, named Thierna na Oge, where the faeries reign. As the ship arrives in the docks you put these thoughts away - it's time to meet your old enemy face to face. It's an epic faerie tale, reminiscent to the classic style of the famous Sierra and Lucasarts graphical adventure games. Featuring five different endings, several sidequests and alternate solutions, teamwork with non-player characters, 75 minutes of high quality music, a director's commentary and a romantic adventure story - ATOTK is a game that deserves to be played. A Deluxe Edition commercial version was released in Nov/2017 with a new interactive prologue, several graphic updates, and professional voice acting.
