And yet in retracing the steps of the dead woman's final days, a picture begins forming of "a creative, vivacious woman who prepared games for her boyfriend – not of a person who was about to take her own life." Perhaps the case isn't so cut-and-dried after all. Refusing to fix what ain't broke, Profound Red follows its predecessors' lead in using a photographic slideshow presentation with simple point-and-click controls, offering a helpful tutorial for new players, a goal-based journal and hint system. Release Date: Mar 1 This is a lovingly hand-illustrated world suspended inside of a unique puzzle. To solve the puzzle, the player rearranges a few tiles on a simple grid, placing them next to or on top of one another. But each tile is also a window into a different part of the game world - or perhaps into a different world - and each window plays like its own little game. Even so, the key to progressing never lies within one tile, but in the connections between tiles.

Character interactions are a major focus of story development and utilize an interactive dialogue system that allows players to guide the tone of the experience. This makes for an experience that is uniquely tailored to each player and puts Ira's development as a character directly into players' hands. Ira is not a story about a single set of events, but the story of an enigmatic place and the man who finds himself lost in it. Return of the Obra Dinn Lucas Pope [top]

Release Date: TBA From the creator of border control hit Papers, Please, this is a 3D, first-person mystery game set on an East Indian merchant ship in 1808, with an art style inspired by old Mac games. In 1802, the merchant ship 'Obra Dinn' set out from London for the Orient with over 200 tons of trade goods. Six months later it hadn't met its rendezvous point at the Cape of Good Hope and was declared lost at sea. Early this morning of October 14th, 1808, the Obra Dinn drifted into port with sails damaged and no visible crew. As insurance adjustor for the East India Company's London Office find means to board the ship and recover the captain's logbook for assessment. It experiments with rendering, story, and a few technical features. It's a compelling mystery with suspense and twists in the limited space of an old merchant sailing ship. It won't be the typical 'collect items and look for clues' structure. It's grittier and less cartoon-like than those old games.

TREX and Muscle SAM: A New Kickstart! Miciosegone Games [top]

Release Date: TBA This is the new installment in the "TREX and Muscle Sam" universe, born in 2009 with the game "TREX and Muscle Sam: Big Trouble in SPF" and deepened with the Italian comic series in 2010 comprised of 25 issues. This new game is a reboot of the original adventure game. It will broaden the universe created in "Big Trouble in SPF" and the "TREX and Muscle Sam" comics, featuring a new story with both old and new characters. The two protagonists, TREX and Muscle Sam, are the sons of two legends of the tag team wrestling working in the same company where their fathers had a fundamental role in its creation. Unlike their fathers, TREX and Sam are not very successful on the ring and don't have many fans. TREX is an egocentric maniac that tries desperately to achieve success, but is actually an insecure nerd on the inside. He's Muscle Sam childhood friend and he's one of the few people that can understand what he says. Muscle Sam most distinctive tract is that he's an anthropomorphic cat, but it's not a weird occurrence in a world where everyone impersonates their gimmick. He's not a very talkative guy, mostly because very few people can understand what he says. What Sam thinks is a mystery: sometimes he acts like a very brilliant person, sometimes like an instinctive animal. Unlike the previous free adventures from the developer, this is a commercial game and will ensure hours of play (between 7-10) and dozens of originals characters, locations, puzzles and entertaining dialogues.

We take the role of a young princess Tsioque, imprisoned in a castle ruled by the Evil Wizard. At first glance, with her blond hair and big blue eyes, she may seem like your typical princess, but she's anything but typical. She doesn't wait for Prince Charming to rescue her - she rescues herself, using her wits, stubbornness, and an unusual talent for bringing unintended chaos and destruction wherever she goes. Humor? Check. Darkness? Check. Suspense? Check! What more could you ask for? LOTS of 2D animation – all characters and items are hand-animated, frame-by-frame, old-school-style. Beautiful, hand-drawn backgrounds. Fully voiced dialogue tracks. A living, breathing environment, full of hidden interactions. As he manages to leave his very body, an odd sense of displacment posessed him and he woke up in the recently deceased shell of a young warrior on another planet within another dimension. Little did he know that this energetic rift that hijacked his astral body was a reoccuring interdimensional event that transports lower astral creatures and so called "lost souls" to posess and resurrect the fallen in the otherwise utopic world of Shavra. A cataclysmic event that happens every 700 years to rince the universe of useless energy such as lost souls. The symarian necromancers, guardians of the dead, mistake you for the messiah sent to end this catastrophic reoccurence once and for all. Will you find the means that grant you passage back to your own body? What secrets will the land of Symaria, the desert nation of Shavra, hold for you. Sokos Andres Martin Jimenez / Adventify [top]

Release Date: TBA This is a single player 2D platform adventure game where a cute alien uses wormholes to find its lost child. Fully controlled by your mouse. The story goes more or less like this: Soko is the only parent of a child called Toko. One night Soko (I know this alien has the same name as the whole species, not THAT original :D) wakes up to some kind of "earthquake" and when he gets up everything's gone, including the child. The only hint is a trail of orange goo which Soko will follow. The truth that Soko unveils through the game is that an alien race called "the Phorgs" have kidnapped everyone in the planet in order to obtain the energy from the bodies of the Sokos (from which they're actually unaware themselves... that's better explained in the pages of a book that you will find in some of the levels of the game). Finally a platform game that you will love playing with a touchscreen or a mouse. Beautiful game design made from scratch by a one-man-studio. A very personal soundtrack contains music composed and played with my own collection of musical instruments. Increasing difficulty will please the most demanding gamers. Powered by multiple OpenSource tools: LibGDX, Inkscape, Tiled, Gimp, Audacity. Find the hidden artwork in the story pages spread among the 40 levels of the game.
