This is an intense action first person perspective survival and shooting game with a vast and rich open world environment and role playing game twist, with a story driven plot and finale. Humanity was a minority in the future, a short-lived and gradually disappearing race, moved to the bottom of the food chain centuries after "The Plague" as the history books called it. The plague was a contagion of some kind that was responsible for the death of sixty-percent of the globe. It took root into the very land, making life difficult for the surviving forty-percent. Of the survivors, less than half were completely immune to the contagion. They, who could hold onto their humanity, were quickly overshadowed by those who weren’t immune. The ones who were resistant enough to not die by the contagion, but not completely immune, found themselves changed in body and mind—mutated. With bodies that were strengthened beyond that of men, and a ravenous hunger brought about by their mutation, the mutants slowly began to encroach on the remnants of humanity. It drove them into a war that the humans ultimately lost. Now humanity was under the rule of the mutants, relegated to meat and labor. The mutants established a hierarchy among themselves, with the strongest becoming an overlord and reigning over the rest of them. The overlord then placed his most powerful agents into positions of power that they used to oversee and oppress the humans. Things looked bleak for the once dominant race. Richard is a member of the resistance movement striving to bring humanity back from the brink of extinction and oppression. After years of hard work, their faction’s scientist made a discovery that could give the human race a fighting chance. There was a flaw in the genetic structure of the mutants that they could exploit. By implanting a resonator into the cellular structure of a single person, mutants would grow weaker in the presence that person and could be overpowered. However, no sooner than the research was complete did their base come under assault. Richard underwent the procedure as the others were attacked. He woke as the mutants broke through the laboratory and killed the scientist, leaving him the sole survivor. Proceeding through the entire base he finds undead preying on both mutants and humans alike. It seems that the resistance group wasn't only experimenting on him and there is much more to it than meets the eye. |
