TerraFire / Enemy Star ORT Software / Midas Interactive Entertainment 1997

In this arcade space shooter, blast your ship through heavily defended underground caverns, past wind tunnels, fire-walls and subterranean lakes. Recover stolen nuclear pods using your ship's tractor beam and carry them back to the planet surface and beyond into hyperspace. The game has raytraced graphics and 360 degree parallax scrolling. The game includes 27 different stages (including 6 bonus), divided into 5 different worlds. It has rendered graphics, several planes of scrolling, and an inertia effect. At the beginning of each game, you can choose the difficulty level between 4 different ones. The goal in regular levels is to penetrate the bunker, kill or avoid enemy defense forces, retrieve the aforementioned nuke and evacuate before time runs out. There are several upgrades scattered around the level, however the games becomes harder when you drag the nuke to the surface, because it destabilizes your ship's movement and hitting the wall costs energy. Bonus levels are based on a classic arcade game Asteroids and require you to destroy piece by piece the huge asteroid flying over the playfield. During the course of the games we can record our situation to get predisposed to using items. It was later released in 2005 as freeware.
