Chalk Fallen Angel Industries 2007

This is a freeware game, from the maker of Noitu Love, where the player guides a nameless character through 6 side-scrolling levels. The character itself can only be moved around the screen, using keys or the mouse, and has no means of defense. Instead, most likely inspired by Kirby: Canvas Curse and a continuation of the gameplay explored in Joakim Sandberg's previous game Tripline, the player controls a piece of chalk, of which the lines drawn provide different effects based on the objects and enemies in the environment. The player can draw a shield around the character, connect dots on objects to destroy them or connect bullets to enemies. Blue objects are harmless but can be thrown into other blue objects to blow them up. There is an endless supply of chalk but lines only last for a short time and can only be drawn for a certain time and over a set distance. Lines can be drawn over multiple objects for combos and double hits. The player has 3 lives, though multiple hits can be taken, and each level ends with a boss and requires a specific approach to discover its weakness. When finished, a grade is awarded based on the score and time. When the 6 six levels have been completed, an endurance mode is opened up. In this mode, the players can only be damaged once while a range of objects and enemies appears at an increasingly faster rate. The game contains original music and all enemies as well as the environment have a chalk-drawn art style. Completed levels become available from the main menu and there is short tutorial where the gameplay is explained.
