This is a free-to-play Action/FPS/Horror PC game based on "Xash3D" engine. It's a sequel to 2007's "PARANOIA" mod which was itself based on GoldSrc engine. This sequel grew so big that it became a standalone game, and is no longer considered a mod. In the first "Paranoia" (HLM), the player, as the "Alpha" team's fighter executes various combat missions to eliminate the terrorists and protect civilians at industrial complex "Ударник"
(Udarnik, aka shock-worker). As a consequence he learns the existence of a secret underground research facility "КРОТ" (KROT, aka mole) and faces its inhabitants and secrets. Features: particle system; re-mastered and improved AI; new visual effects (local dynamic lights, bump-mapping, specular mapping, parallax-mapping (for models and brushes), supports HDRL (High Dynamic Range Light Maps), detailed textures, etc...); well-organized modding system; levels inspired by real post-Soviet architecture (detailed surroundings). |
