Switching Gears (cancelled) Affectworks / GarageGames 2007

This is a 3D action platformer game made with the Torque engine but only a playable demo was completed. It won 1st prize at GarageGames game developer conference (GDC) in 2008. Help, The Guild has invaded our city and is stealing all of the city's flux resources. You play as Gears, a low ranking delivery bot. So low ranking in fact that the invading force, The Guild, has allowed you to traverse the city to deliver packages and healthy dose of kicking butt. Wield weapons such as the Bubble Gun, Goo Bots, Sticky bombs and more. Customize your avatar in the Lobby Arena with the Gears you collect inside the game levels as well as display your achievements to all other players inside the Lobby Arena. Join other players and take on the Guild of Gears in glorious co-op. Joining up with other players in co-op is as easy as starting the game, find your friends inside the server list and off you go. It presents an exciting series of "third person" platform sequences. The city you are in is in a very rough state after a prolonged war so expect to find yourself hanging 100's of feet over the ground to avoid detection, moving through sewers, fighting off dogs and brutes while dodging landmines and much much more. It features twelve interactive and very destructible levels to nurture your chaotic side. Move through the city freeing your fellow bots and cause havoc for the invading force. Use the W, A, S and D keys to move, tap the space key to jump, and hold the left mouse button to shoot. Both mouse buttons are also used to interact with levers or direct helper droids. Broken droids can be regenerated at cloning stations, provided that you have their discs in possession when attempting to revive them. Only one disc can be carried at any time, but you will need all three near the end of the first stage to complete the game.
