A majority of the team which created Medal Of Honor also
is responsible for building Call Of Duty. Even more impressively, it is
laid on the accurate depiction of war events. Players are in teams during
the game and teamwork is of extreme importance. There are no one man armies,
only in the group one has a chance. The player is joined by computer-controlled
allies who range in quantity from two infantrymen (in some of the British
missions) to an entire regiment of tanks (in the Soviet missions). In 24 missions
one will fight as a
British, American or Russian soldier. There are tactical missions, such
as attack scenarios and also fights using vehicles. The graphics and the
in-the-middle-of-a-battle feeling should still be much better, as with
Medal Of Honor. It features a "shellshock" effect: when there is an explosion
near the player, he momentarily experiences simulated tinnitus, appropriate sound
"muffling" effects, blurred vision, and the action moves slower. The multiplayer
modes (16 maps) contain respawning in deathmatch mode, selection of weapons at the
start of the game (and the possibility of selecting to respawn with a different
weapon), and very fast-paced gameplay. The available multiplayer modes are Behind
Enemy Lines, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Retrieval, Search & Destroy and Headquarters.
