Macross VO is the first PC 3D-shooter based on the popular anime, Super Dimension Fortress Macross. A.D. 2014. Yuu Hiyama joins the crew of Megaroad-02 prior to its colonization mission. An unknown group using Zentradi weapons attacks a monitoring station and Megaroad-02 is dispatched to the distress call. This space combat simulator was compatible with Windows 95, 98 and ME. The game was unique in the fact that it enabled players to sortie online using the vehicles used by the different factions (Zentradi, Meltlandi and U.N. Spacy) featured in Macross DYRL. You can switch freely between mech, mechjet, and jet, dodge or blow up missiles, spam your own missiles, blow stuff up, etc. Play through the story spanning up to 15 missions. Earn weapons to use in standalone or network mode. Customize your own battle with options for time limit, map, #wingmen, tech level, winning conditions, etc. Play as UN Spacy, Zentradi, Meltrandi, or Illumination. Play over the network or internet with a maximum of 8 players. Free matching server and ranking page. It has 19 units to choose from, including VF-1, VT-1, VE-1, Regult, Graug, Nousjadeul-Ger, Queadluun-Rau, and more. Perspective is first-person cockpit mode or third-person external camera. A Windows XP version was later released (The Super Dimension Fortress Macross VOXP) in 2002 which added 2 new units: VF-1D, Lancer 2. You could then download 2 more units free of charge: VF-1J Max Type, VF-1J Millia Type. Finally, you could download another 2 units at 400 yen each: Super Valkyrie Type D (VF-1DS), QF-3000E Ghost. |
