Ether Vapor Remaster Edelweiss 2007

All hope seems to be lost for the country of Lydia in their war against Caldea, which has a huge advantage in numbers and technology. Into the midst of this war flies an unknown pilot in a prototype fighter... His agenda and the secret to the his awesome firepower will be revealed as he takes on overwhelming numbers of enemy fighters and massive bosses to reach his final objective. ETHER VAPOR Remaster is a cinematic 3D arcade shooter and visual treat from developer Edelweiss. Explosions, lasers, ships and backgrounds are breathtakingly rendered. The dynamic camera uses vertical, horizontal and cinematic chase cam views to switch up the action and highlight the drama. Use multi-lock-on to shoot tens of missiles at a time and even blow up an entire battleship in the challenging Bonus Zones. You get to control a plane with 3 modes of shooting: straight, spread, and lock. Each of these shooting modes have their own charged state. If you hold down the spread shot button until the charged state is full, you will unleash a barrier shot which can damage the surrounding enemy and protect yourself from enemy’s projectile. Not only that, the game introduces many angle changing scenes so you won’t just have a stage from sideview but also from bird’s eye view and many other. It has gorgeous 3D graphics, supporting up to 1600 x 1200 resolution and anaglyph 3D mode, and a dynamic camera provides vertical, horizontal and cinematic chase gameplay. Destroy the enemies with Gatling, Winder and Lock-On weapons, each with a unique & powerful Charged Shot. There's cinematic bonus zones with Multi-Lock-On mode, and online leaderboards. In an "Extended Disc", the player can play against the bosses in special "Boss Rush Mode." Ether Vapor was originally released only through Japanese doujin channels. It was re-released in 2011 under the title Ether Vapor Remaster, with a number of enhancements. The first release only supported 640x480 display, while the remastered version includes several higher resolutions, including stretched widescreen, along with other improved graphical options like anti-aliasing, improved textures and models, and better lighting effects. Also included are welcome additions like hitbox displays, online leaderboards and an option for 3D using anaglyph (red/blue) glasses. You can also unlock the Overdrive by beating the game once, rather than requiring that you beat the game without continuing. There's an English option for the story scenes, of course, though there's a new mode to completely disable them as well.
