Nina Hzhlolit: Journey to the Land of the Butterflies [He] Makh-shevet 1996

A collection of logical mini-games with an interface in the style of "point and click". Strange as it may seem, the plot can be explained with just one single phrase, which, however, makes you think very much and makes a lot of notable psychedelic patterns: we find ourselves in the dream world of the growing caterpillar Nina, preparing for pupation and loving to help people, animals and other creatures. Once again: the dreams of a growing caterpillar. Each level, limited to a single screen, is a kind of "riddle"; the perspective of the review is identical to that in the usual old quest games (third-person view, when the protagonist looks us in the eye). It is worth emphasizing that it is still possible to play without knowing the language. Due to the uniqueness of the situation, we briefly describe the beginning of the heroine's journey through the world of her dreams. The first of them is a cave in which lies a baby monster sucking an empty bottle (as already noted, it is at the beginning that the most curious from the point of view of atmospheric conditions awaits you); the anthropomorphic droplet that appears explains that this creature needs to be helped to grow, and for this it needs to be drunk with liquids of several colors, obtained from similar droplets hiding in holes (this text is also recommended to be re-read - and to realize its depth). We click on the eyes peering out of the hole, see what color the droplet is hidden there, and remember this; our task is to mark the calculated identical objects in pairs, as a result, they will combine and be poured into a bottle of a small monster; when such an operation is done with all of them, he suddenly becomes very large and breaks the ceiling of the cave, but then disappears, and before leaving we must not forget to take the candy from the cache that opened at his lair. Note that a kind of "inventory panel" is located at the bottom of the screen and represents the body of a sleeping protagonist, whose segments act as "cells" for objects. In the second dream, we meet a hamburger that asks to fill it with filling (to start the process, left-click on it after the conversation), - six ingredients are spread around the table: cheese, onion, broken egg, salad, tomato and cucumber ( pepper is in this case not food, but a "lively" colorful character "for entourage"). The goal of this task, apparently, is to introduce very young children to food; the meaning is to take and stack on top of each other the types of food that a hamburger currently calls. To pass this episode, however, it is quite realistic with the so-called “brute force”: first, we alternately click on the products on the table - and, as soon as some has taken, put it in a hamburger; if suddenly this does not happen with any of the remaining ones, then we try to sequentially take those that are already inside, and as a result we find the right one. The third "riddle" has Nina finding herself in an apartment where a boy is sitting crying bitterly, sitting on the floor near the door. First of all, he needs to give the candy taken on the first level (first click on it, then on it) - then he will calm down a bit and tell about his misfortune: this bully made mess in the house, throwing things away, and now he is afraid of parental punishment, and he asks us to put everything in its place (why he can’t get up and do it himself is a rhetorical question). Since the “message” of this task was probably the desire to introduce young players to furniture and household items, the process has become more complicated compared to the previous stage: we are now required not only to find and take the item the boy is talking about, but also to put it in the place of the room indicated by it, - in this case, as in the case of products, only the thing that it just named is allowed to be taken at a particular moment (and their order is different for each level load), and the installation as such is the notorious "pixel hunting", that is, guessing its location - often also surprisingly unintuitive - is necessary with a very high degree of accuracy. Once the room has taken an acceptable look, it becomes possible to move on - in this case, up the stairs. There we meet an aggressive cat, which - and here comes the return to the "previous dream" - must be released to the first floor, after which she herself will run away from the house through the front door; we follow her - and find ourselves in a grocery store where you have to make purchases. But from this moment on, those who wish are invited to complete the game on their own. It’s worth highlighting the wonderful hand-drawn graphics - bright, truly cartoonish, spiced up with a lot of funny animation effects (like fixing the heroine’s hairstyle), as well as videos preceding some levels. It’s impossible, no matter how it sounds, to note the dubbing: if you believe the messages on the Israeli Internet, then Makh-Shevet has always been famous for inviting the country's leading theater actors to work on their children's projects - and the selection of votes, as well as the level of artistry really on top.
