This sequel, taken over by a new developer, takes place in the 1990's, twelve years after the original game. Solitary Darren meets the cute Angelina while he is working at the local photo shop of Biddeford, a small town in New England. Angelina also catches the eye of Darren's despotic, unpopular boss. To add to the mystery, there seems to be a third person interested in Angelina — Darren sees someone chasing her. He decides to investigate these incidents, and his research soon lead him to several locations, such as the small English village of Willow Creek that players will know from the first game. There, a museum dedicated to the murders from the first game was opened, the sanitarium was converted to a hotel, and they even added a funfair. Recently, however, business has dried up, and darkness is once again looming over the town. In addition to typical point-and-click, inventory-style adventure puzzles, there are other "minigames" which can be skipped if the player wants. In further attempts to alleviate player frustration, a "diary" has been added that automatically keeps track of what needs to be done next, as well as an autosave that triggers before you enter dangerous (possibly lethal) situations. |
