This is a quite good 3D platformer featuring Gex the Gecko, Playstation's answer to Mario 64. It picks up where the original Gex left off. Gex must battle his enemy, Rez, who is attempting to take over television broadcasts. So Gex is thrust into the Media Dimension where he fights off creatures in such levels as The Rocket Channel, Toon TV, and Kung-Fu Theater. You go through large and somewhat open levels - each designed as sarcastic parodies of popular TV and movies. You usually have specific tasks to complete like finding 5 purple mushrooms or 5 blood coolers. Once you accomplish these tasks you gain access to Gilligex Island. Gex is quite a verbal little fellow, often making little comments about Keith Richards, George Michael and other popular people. British comedian Leslie Phillips provides the voice and personality of GEX, with over 300 hilarious lip-synched one-liners. There's over 125 different moves: whip-cracking tail attacks, flying karate kicks, tongue grabbing and climbing up walls and ceilings. GEX sports a secret agent tuxedo, kung fu uniform, spacesuit, and other hilarious costumes. There's also tons of hidden areas, bonus rounds and entirely new secret levels. | ||
