You Don't Know Jack: 5th Dementia Jellyvision Games, Inc. / Sierra On-Line, Inc. 2000

Once again it seems that computer gamers still "don't know jack." This contains more than 600 new questions, presented in a similar style to previous games in the series with the same quick and caustic wit. In addition to the new questions and a new association-based type of question known as Bug Out, the most significant advance in this edition is the game's multiplayer options. It's rigged for online play allowing gamers to challenge trivia buffs via the Internet around the country and across the globe. Private games with online friends can be set up or you can challenge strangers by entering a "green room" to wait for available public contests. Although the multiplayer feature opens up a whole new arena of gameplay possibilities, three friends or competitors can still gather around one computer, making it a suitable addition to one of the PC's most enduring franchises. Six modes of questioning are carried forward from earlier iterations of the series including multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, anagrams, Gibberish, DisOrDat and the all-encompassing Jack Attack. The new Bug Out questions require you to identify items that don't belong to a specific group. For example, the topic might be the Seven Deadly Sins and whoever buzzes in first after a crawling bug shouts out the name of a lesser sin (tardiness) wins. Each question has seven levels worth varying amounts of cash with winnings coming from the other player's earnings.
