A friend of mine asked me some weeks ago about a movie he could not remember the name of... Turns out I think I've seen this movie too because I can recall seeing a movie with the events he described, but I cannot remember the name either. And now it has been bugging me ever since.

Hopefully someone can shed a light.

This is what I (or we) can remember:

The main character is a kid. He spends a lot of time in front of his computer. In the beginning of the movie he is seen chatting online and he also tries to hack a teachers computer to get the answer key to a test they will have in a few days.

Somewhere further into the movie it turns out that one of the people the kid has been talking to online was the president. And during a field trip later into the movie the kid is taken aside and he will bowl with the president and meet his daughter. The kid also helps the president writing his speeches so that people will understand them better.

I believe the kids father gets kidnapped at some point and the kidnapper(s) thinks he is the one that has been talking to the president.

At the end of the movie there is a school dance of some sort and the kid has no one to go with... so he will actually go with the presidents daughter.

My friend says he's pretty sure he watched it on Disney channel. Myself I cannot remember when or how I watched it.
