Diffeneces between Doom 3 and ROE's engines?

There's definatly something different about ROE's engine, the most obvious is that textures tend to be jagged even with the antialiasing all the way up, which impacts performance. I didn't have to fiddle with Doom 3's AA at all. Anyone know what was changed?

Sounds like AA isn't being applied correctly by the game. You should try using your video cards' control panel to force it on.

There's definatly a difference when it's turned up, but after playing it again I remembered it did the same thing on my old computer. At the time I just figured it was my graphics weak computer.


EDIT: Never mind, problem with the config file. FIXED

Just remember if you've turned on VSYNC then your monitor frequency must be 60 to avoid choppy framerate.

The only difference I am aware of is the portal sky function in RoE (a skybox that is practically a camera view of another room, with models and stuff in it to create a panorama). Portal sky also works in regular Doom3 with the help of a mod.

But it is the same engine, RoE just has new media added and some extra functionality unlocked.

It's one exciting topic I'd say. :D And, yeah, there's no difference whatsoever. Until you're on drugs, of course.
