Ah me again but this is trascendental too. Continuing with hosters problems....

Here is the last news from rapidshare (http://rapidshare.com/news.html):

Reward programme: RapidPoints and RapidDonations to be discontinued.

So if you were a die hard free rapidshare fanatic, bad news for you. I never used or used a few that site so it doesn´t affects to me or legendsworld fortunatelly. :D

That sucks... Rapidshare y 4Shared se pueden ir a la mierda :-x
Anyway, I think we are pretty much relying on MegaUpload at this very moment, right?

...Wait, MU is also sucking balls with that "time out" thingy :P

Yeah, but with the large file size you can do single cd uploades. The main annoyance is that files are often 'temporarily unavaliable'...

The file folder front page of MU uses an annoying macromedia flash plugin.
I don't want to install such stuff only to fill my computer with such trashy software and open all doors to dangerous trojans and useless advertising stuff! Therefore I am uncapable to download anything from MU this way. There was no problem if the uploader would avoid this folder page and would publish the links to each file instead.

I can't catch it why you don't like 4S, this is one of the fastest hosters!
Try netload.in. 400MB each file, >300kByte DL speed, short delay, no ads (after filtering).

I've been using rapidshare paid premium for a few years now. I have an unreliable wireless connection so I need resume and automatic reconnect with a download manager. Using Internet download manager and password linked direct downloads are easy and ,for me,worth paying the annual subscription for.
I have looked at other filehosts and the main problem is file coverage. Rapidshare is by far the biggest and you can always find new releases (games movies etc) on rapidshare files. Hotfile, megupload and 4shared do not have nearly the same coverage. Undoubtably this will change with no incentive for uploaders - maybe a mass deletion of files from rpid servers. Hopefully a new clear host will become obvious soon.

Also many people here use jdownloader. I have tried this app several times. The main problem I have with it is that when my internet disconnects the file resuming is not automaitc and with my "dial-up style" (PPOE) network conection I cannot get jdownloader to reconnect for me.
