here is quick description
ECM (Error Code Modeler) lets you prepare CD image files (such as BIN, CDI, NRG, CCD, or similar) so that they'll compress far better in programs such as WinRAR. Here's how to use it:
Run the CD image file (i.e. filename.bin) through ECM to create an ECM file (i.e. filename.bin.ecm).
Compress the ECM file (i.e. filename.bin.ecm) using your favorite compression program.
Back up, transmit via Internet, or whatever you normally do with CD images!
When you want to burn the CD again, extract the original CD image from the ECM file.

I have been using this for over 6 months now on many many cd's with not one single problem and all cds where MD5 checked after extraction to be 100% sure of it's accuracy.
The program seem to handle winxp better in long name format than say 98/se but to get around that just lable cd's as cd1.bin etc - the program is very small and files are draged and droped on .exe so even a brain dead monkey could use it - and best of all it's fast.
I think it's worth a look
