Starion 2010 Tero Heikkinen 2004

This is a remake of a 1985 game by David Webb that was published by Melbourne House for various formats such as Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad CPC. It was written for the remakes.org competition. Thanks to Arto Heikkinen for helping to finish and compiling the program. In the beginning of the 21st century, mankind finally discovers time travel. The first timeship capable of warping through time is built in 2010, and is called the S.S. Stardate. The first attempted timewarp brought unexpected after effects: Every alien race in the galaxy that had discovered time travel before humans, are attracted to the phenomenon, and to dominate the human race they have altered history in 243 time zones. The only chance for human race lies in the timeship itself. Although it originally attracted the alien invasion, it is also the only Earth-built spacecraft outside time, and therefore unaffected by the alteration of history. Correct all sectors each representing a year. After selecting one, you are involved in first-person space dogfighting, viewed from within your cockpit. Pay attention to your multi-directional scanner to locate ships and mines. There are also indicators for your fuel and oxygen levels, pitch and yaw, and engine temperature. Shot enemies release letters, which must then be flown over. Once an area is cleared, you must use the letters to form a word. Then, fly through the time gate, and decide which historical event the word relates to.
