This mod was based on the movie made in the early eighties when an intelligent computer program, the MASTER CONTROL PROGRAM or MCP, begins to spread itself to every computer mainframe on the planet in a plot to take control of mankind. The only hope against a future of digital tyranny? TRON - another intelligent program created to take down the MCP and "derezz" him for good. He is helped along on his mission by Flynn, a human being (or "user") who has been digitized into the videogame world that exists inside the mainframe at ENCOM, and Yori, TRON's love interest. This loosely follows the plot of the movie, with the gamer playing TRON and leading a squadron of Blue Recognizers into the MCP's domain. Along the way, you'll encounter the same enemies from the film - namely, the evil Red Recognizers, Sark's carrier, scores of battle tanks and those pesky grid bugs. It features a variety of vehicles and settings from the movie including Recognizers, Sark's Carrier, tanks, I/O Towers, grid bugs, Yori's Solar Sailer, the cityscape, lightcycles, and more. If you've ever wondered what it'd be like to fly your own Recognizer, attack enemy tanks (Space Paranoids in reverse!), engage in aerial combat with other Red Recognizers and take on Sark's carrier, this is the game for you. | ||
