Shooterlegends » Broken Downloads Forum Adventure Legends is an offshoot of 3D Shooter Legends site dedicated
to collecting info on and keeping old PC adventure games alive. Please
don't ask us about games from other genres as our site has that narrow
focus and it takes a lot of work to just compile all the info on this
site let alone anything more. Adventure games are typified by exploration,
puzzle-solving, interaction with game characters, and a focus on narrative
rather than reflex-based challenges. This focus on story allows it
to draw heavily from other narrative-based art forms, such as literature
and film, and includes fantasy, science fiction, mystery, horror,
and comedy. The genre was quite popular during the late 80s and early
90s, but when the cdrom drive was introduced there were a glut of
failed interactive fmv (full-motion video) adventures and 3D Myst
clones which made many of the big game publishers (especially in North
America) hesitant to step into the genre again. Many quality titles
though continue to be released by smaller publishers. We will also
include notable titles released only in foreign languages where adventures
continue to have more popularity than in North America. There is a
separate section called "Adventure-Related" where similar games that
would appeal to adventure fans also are put. These include mostly
action-adventure combos (some which are already present in 3D Shooter
Legends). Those with sword-fighting and non-shooting
ones like superhero games will be included here, plus reference cd-roms. In June/2013, we are now listing
role-playing games in a separate section. Note that we also list adult titles including
hentai titles in a seperate section as well as kid's adventures, educational and other games.
In 2015, we seperated platformer games into its own section as well as adding a Casual game section which
includes addictive arcade games which can be played for short periods of time as a time waster.
No uploads of games from previous 3 years
are allowed nor are a few other games "still too popular in retail".
We are constantly adding new entries for brand new games and those from the
past not yet catalogued. As of March, 2019 we have over 14000 game entries on site. 1.) "Level Demo". This means
an actual demo from the developer or shareware usually limited to
1 level or sometimes with a time limit. Full and iso-demos are either our own uploads or lead to Oldgames- & Abandonware sites (usually from 1981-2000). Direct links to downloads from other sites/boards are of course also not included . Due to copying of our links to other forums and sites, we now have a Download Script for most uploads which will work only if links are clicked from our site and nowhere else. Dialer/Traffic popups on warez pages can be suppressed with options in
modern browsers.
Due to the large number of games, including freeware ones where accurate
release dates are hard to know, and the confusing nature of early
game releases on multiple microcomputer platforms, we will just be
listing each year's games in order alphabetically. Also, some are
released in non-English languages first so that date may be different
than English release date. An upcoming game section of the current
year is revised all the time as release dates often change.
It is the most up-to-date list found on the web as we use various
