Super Apocalypse Warriors Magnet & Cosmic '98 1997

This is a rare and strikingly beautiful arcade game that largely resembles classic cartoon platformers, but the gameplay is much more close to the arcade puzzles like Lode Runner. The action takes place in perhaps more futuristic than a post-apocalyptic world with our hero - a soldier with a gun. However, this is only in the beginning as later levels have you control a small tank with the soldier. Despite the luxurious graphics, the game is almost entirely two-dimensional. On the game screen in addition to the hero is a certain amount of enemies, as well as stairs, transitions, and other structures. The main task is not to kill all the enemies, but to find a way to the next level. And sometimes it is very difficult and requires thinking, in fact - sometimes part of the path you will literally create yourself, by making a hole in any surface. Enemies in the game are extremely strong and unusual, all mechanical. There are quite weak robots that do not stand out and are easily killed, and also (and at the beginning of the game) huge robotic spiders and robots gorillas, which are much bigger and stronger and kill the hero of which are very difficult or even impossible. You should try to avoid contact with these, as they take a significant part of your life. Nevertheless, the enemies usually (but not always) do not tend to follow the hero, and move on "their" routes. However, sometimes it happens that some robot will climb the stairs. It is worth noting that almost everything in the game is destructible - nothing prevents you to unleash a shot at the floor at the underfoot of enemy, so that he falls to the "floor" below. But despite the fact that each level is just one screen, the game is still very, very hard. Of course, the game has a variety of bonuses and huge robots bosses (they are the only enemies in "their" levels, but it is difficult to deal with them). Graphically, as has been said, the game is simply gorgeous - it is one of the most technologically powerful games for DOS. The quality of drawing and animation can surprise even now.
