Pothead Happy Capitalist Productions 1996

Take Myst, remove the puzzles and plot, then twist the scenes around and coat it with Cannibus Culture. Now your starting to get an idea of Pothead. It's more of an animation-packed experience than a game, a grass-roots effort created in an eleven-foot-wide Hudson St. railroad flat. The disk produces the burbling sound of smoke sucked through a bong, and suddenly, you're in a virtual hash bar...offered a thick Hershey-bar-size slab of elite Parvatti hash. It has a message too, man. Clicking on a pulsating brain offering random sound bytes such as cultivation secrets, or a man recalling maternal chastisement for smoking pot. There are hundreds of photos of the kindest Hashes and Buds in the world (we went there to photograph them!) You'll find some in the Hash Bar and The Pot Farmer's Den. Or, Grandma Brownie's Photo Album. There's hours and hours of music and audio, thousands of clips. The soundtrack is an unstoppable morphing of all kinds of musical styles, noises, words, laughter, and general mayhem. Hidden icons reveal hundreds of conversational clips, characters and various pieces of machinery can be engaged. Several full-length songs are also located somewhere deep in The Valley. There's no way to reference anything on the disk. You've got to wander and learn for yourself. That's the best way to learn about pot, or anything, really. If you're not a relaxed and explorative person, the CD-ROM will annoy you.
