Tianlong babu [Tw] Gamebox 1997

This RPG is based on the same title movie and novel written by Jin Young (Louis Cha) who lived in Hong Kong. The English title of the 1994 movie directed by Andy Chin is The Dragon Chronicles: The Maidens. You will control the evil (!) female character, she will be fight against various martial arts schools in Jiang Hu country. In the menu, at the beginning, you need to select the speed in the fight (in fact, the difficulty of the game): eagle (鷹), horse (馬), cow (牛) and turtle (龜). Everything is obvious from the names. Simply, the implementation of combat scenes in this game can be called nothing other than step-by-step real-time: the exchange of attacks is strictly one-by-one, but taking place in real time, when very little time is allotted to choose the option of the next action. Moving around the map takes place in 2D (top view), and the battle in 3D isometric. You can enter the premises, enter into dialogues with the characters you meet. The role model is complex and full of everything that constitutes the artistic core of the wuxia genre. The character's parameters are as follows: skill level (等級), disposition (人性), physical strength (體力), spirit (內力), intelligence (智力), health (力量), agility (敏捷), reaction (反應), attack (戰鬥力), defense (防禦 力). In a convenient menu ("dragon's face") at any time you can check your inventory, combat techniques and weapons. In skirmish mode, actions are available from the same menu: attack, defense, treatment. Sometimes, when moving around the map, a selection window appears: kill (殺) or not kill (不 殺) the character you meet. Most likely, this is an option: a battle of the user's choice to develop "skills". Convenient control is realized on the keyboard. Already the very first level will be difficult to complete. You start on the grounds of Shinsu School (星宿 派). First, in the arms shop (left half of the map) you need to take the Qingang sword (青鋼劍), then at the pharmacy from a friend you know you will borrow a healing ointment (萬能 膏). After that, as a result of the exchange of mutual witticisms, you will inevitably have to fight with the brute Gu Dao (古道), who guards the entrance to the alchemical hall (煉丹 室). There, among a huge number of secret cabinet doors, you need to find a secret passage, where you will meet a young warrior Da Xiong (大雄). Then you will still need to visit the lumberjack's house to pick up something from them. After that, you will be ready for the next level - the attack on the Shao Lin Monastery (少林寺). Ding Chunqiu has long cherished a plan to destroy this strong school, to get their hands on their book "Shaolin Yi Jinjing" (少林.). In addition to Ding Chunqiu, a young man Xu Zhu (虚竹) will join your team. And about chess ... Although here in our game we will have exclusively Chinese martial arts, and not chessbox, in which you need to know well "openings and gambits", one of the screenshots of the final game still shows the same "chessboard" in the form of a network of stretched over the abyss of ropes, at the intersection of which are placed huge round pieces of black and white colors. The graphics are not to say outstanding, but bright and colorful, the screen resolution is minimal - 320x200. Everything looks especially impressive in isometric view, during fights with opponents or bosses. The musical themes in the menu and in the game are truly gorgeous - these are songs and melodies from the film. Frames from the motion picture will be presented as intro and intermission inserts.
