Narara Superboard: Hwansang Seoyugi [K] KCTmedia / E2 Soft 1998

A relatively popular role-playing game in its homeland based on the series of the same name and, possibly, a comic book, which became the first game in a series of five games. The action takes place in a conventional techno-fantasy world. The story begins with a girl named Maze, who sets out on a journey around the world, wanting to find out the origin of her mother. The gameplay is not quite typical for Asian RPGs: the world is divided into separate locations, consisting of several zones, "populated" (cities, towns) and "natural" (forests, mountains, dungeons, and so on) types. If in the first you can buy uniforms and other useful things, then in the second there are collisions with monsters that arise by chance. The battles take place step by step in the manner of tactical games: without going to a separate arena, a field is marked out along which you can move. As a rule, two actions are allowed - moving and attacking - but sometimes there are situations when one or more characters at the beginning of the battle can do three or more of them. In addition to the standard attack, there is the use of objects and magic, which includes spells of both offensive and healing directions. Opponents represent all living creatures, evil spirits and other creatures, for the victory over which experience, money and items are given. Leveling up automatically increases six basic parameters: strength, intelligence, agility, attack, defense and luck. There are only five types of equipment - helmets, armor, weapons and a couple of accessories. Plot progress is mostly linear. The graphics are made in perspective from a top view, but they give an ambiguous impression: if the backgrounds are done well in some places and sometimes are relatively richly furnished, then the pre-rendered character models do not make the same favorable impression. The music is good and some of the songs sound good.
