25 Ans! Le CD-ROM de Fluide Glacial [Fr] Fluide Glacial 2000

This was sold with the special issue 6, "Fluide glacial Le Magazine Informatique". This software summarizes 25 years of Fluide Glacial, the magazine of "humour and banned drawings". Founded in 1975 by Alexis Gotlib and Jacques Diament, the quarterly which quickly became monthly publishes a large number of French-speaking comedians (Binet, Tronchet, Franquin, Alexis, etc.), we owe him, among others, "Les Bidochon", "Carmen Cru" , "Super Dupont", "Sister Marie-Thérèse Des Batignolles". Very influenced by Monthy Python and Tex Avery, among others, the humor of the magazine is based on absurdity and derision, it is clearly less provocative and scatological than that of Charlie Hebdo, for example. After an animated intro showing the appearance of a huge luxurious tower at the top of which throne gloriously in neon letters: "The 25 years of Glacial Fluid", we enter the reception hall of the building where we are greeted by a charming hostess as well as by a security guard, former legionary, who is much less (charming, of course). From there, the elevator will take you to the floors of the building where you will visit the different parts of the Writing of Fluid. The visit will have its share of wacky surprises, but beware, it is potentially dangerous and the hidden corners of the gigantic building contain monstrosities that the most vigilant visitor will find it difficult to avoid. We start with the basement which contains the editorial archives. All the first and last covers of magazines published since 1975 are listed with the names of the comedians who participated in each issue. A database which, by itself, justifies the possession of the CD. Then comes the store where, for a fee, you can get goodies, old issues or albums. Unfortunately, due to the age of the CD, these features are no longer active except for the database which lists all the titles published between 1975 and 2000, another very interesting point for collectors! We then move on to the offices of Cogebom, a sprawling multinational that oversees the magazine's destiny. You will meet the leaders of the company and you will see with what abnegation he watches over its destinies and the well-being of the employees grouped together in the "union of united and moderately interventionist workers". I'm not going to give you the full tour, there are still a few floors that I leave you the pleasure of discovering! Be aware, however, that the whole is strewn with gags and contains several videos featuring the designers of Fluide which allows to put a face on these comedians of which we often only know the drawing. The CD was made with Macromedia Director, the essential tool of the time. The native resolution is 800 * 600 in millions of colors, which ensures a very fine rendering. The videos are correct, although sometimes very pixelated. The voices of the speakers are very clear and the whole is bathed in elevator music for the best effect. The program is not free of bugs, but, as you can easily go back to Windows with the "escape" key, you just have to restart it to get everything back to normal. It should also be noted that the software does not install anything on the hard drive, and therefore does not keep any trace of your visit.
