Players drive an 18-wheel big rig, picking up commodities from a dispatch and delivering them to their destination. It is an enhanced version of the original Crosscountry Canada. Clicking on the laptop provides information about each commodity, a map of Canada and an expense log. Along their route, the player has to watch out for any surprises (such as commodities being stolen, accidents, or running out of gas), and the player clicks on the phone to call up a tow truck or the police for assistance. The player also has to watch out for the health, in which the game tells him/her to find a restaurant or hotel to decrease the risks of having an accident. The game’s educational topics feature Canadian geography and social studies. New in this version is ordering commodities from Iqualuit (which can be accessed from the phone to order Diamonds or Inuit Art), and updates the geographical information to include the Nunavut and the Confederation Bridge. |
