Tokimeki Memorial: Oshiete Your Heart [J] Konami / Konami Computer Games Aoyama 1998

A Windows PC port of the Konami arcade game of the same name, itself a truncated retelling of the original Tokimeki Memorial - game flow is focused squarely on going on dates with girls, eschewing the additional activities and micromanagement of the original. In the arcade version, players placed their hands and fingers on a heart rate sensor, which would show their heart rate in the game, and that works in conjunction with the traditional dialogue choices in the game to inform the girls' reactions. In this Windows 95 version, the lack of a heart monitor is solved with a mouse, where you must press and hold both left and right buttons while moving the mouse slowly up or down to affect the reading. (The relatively hyperaccurate laser/optical mice of today can throw this out of whack, so you may want to make some adjustments.) After a game session, you can choose the "Print" command to get special picture of one of the girls for printing. The arcade game handled that automatically, but to facilitate this on Windows, the game saves a .BMP image, and then you can print it in the included "Tokimeki Memorial Photograph" app. The app also has its own feature where it can read from a digital camera (contemporary device/driver necessary) and lets you take pictures with one of the game's girls in the frame.
