Ganbare! Inu-chan: Rock'n Roll-hen [J] Emotion Digital Software / Amuse 1995

The little dog Inuchan and his friend Mesuinuchan decide to start a band after spending too much money out on karaoke one night. Band life isn't easy though, and it's even harder if you're a dog. Ganbare! Inuchan is adapted from the long-running comedy manga Inuchan by Japanese artist, musician and actor Kenso Kato, which had been running in various magazines since 1985. In this interactive CD-ROM storybook for adults, players follow along with the animals' band life dreams and help guide them to success. The game is divided into chapters; each chapter opens with a song summarizing the problem the band will soon face, then a voiced story scene, and finally one or more minigames where players help the band through whatever new problem they've run into. These start out simple, but become more complex as the game progresses. The first chapter, for instance, has players deciding how to find more band members from a multiple-choice menu, while later chapters feature more complex minigames such as putting together a gig poster, assembling songs from prerecorded parts, or navigating the band tour in the form of a sugoroku board game.
