Nyan Nyan Parasol [J] Shisui House 2000

Despite the fact that nowadays nekomimi (Japanese for “cat ears”) is one of the symbols and even in some ways a stereotype of anime, this was not always the case. In anime of the 1980s and 1990s, characters of this type were very rare. For example, a rather rare example from the 1980s: Wata no Kuni Hoshi - possibly the first anime with a cat girl. This game was released just in the era of rapid popularization of nekomimi (the main popularizer, most likely, was the anime Di Gi Charat) and other kemonomi (Japanese “animal ears”). The plot of the game is as follows: a cat girl named Mei-Nyan went on a picnic in the forest and met a fairy along the way, who asked her to find five magic talismans. Nyan Nyan Parasolis a similarity to games such as Fairyland Story and Don Doko Don, and belongs to the genre of "Comical action game" also known as "Elimination Platformer" (unfortunately, this genre does not have any established name in Russian). The point is to “get rid” of enemies from the level. Mei-Nian can attack the latter with his umbrella; When hit by it, an enemy turns into a yellow jelly ball that can be thrown at other enemies. Destroyed opponents drop various types of food that give extra points. The umbrella can also be used as a parachute. The game has five stages divided into ten levels. Four out of five are made in the style of a specific season: spring, summer, autumn and winter. For completing each stage, Mei-Nyan receives a magical talisman, and after this, all sorts of “kawaii” decorations for the system, such as screensaver programs or wallpapers, are unlocked.
