Dead Justice (Cancelled) Cat Mother 2003

This is a fully playable prototype of a 3rd person action/adventure/stealth game that was cancelled due to lack of funds. Your hero's name is Harley. He has a strong athletic build and shoots well. He moves around the city on a small truck, in which inside the van stands ... a powerful motorcycle / bike of the legendary “Harley-Davidson” model. Apparently, one of the developers was strongly influenced by the same 1991 film with M. Rourke and D. Johnson in the lead roles. It remains unclear who Harley is working for: for the state intelligence services, or is he just a private detective? But judging by the title of the game, you can guess: he is an implacable exterminator of organized crime in the city. Harley can constantly throw empty cartridges (Z key) to distract the attention of the armed guards. Secondly, to the bandit guarding the warehouse, it is enough to quietly approach from behind, and then for a while "knock out" him with the butt (alternative attack - right mouse button), so as not to make unnecessary noise. Thirdly, it is possible to quickly look around the corner to the left / right (keys Q, E, respectively), as well as reduce the noise from walking (long press LShift), while, of course, significantly sacrificing the speed of movement. You can also squat (key C) and perform spectacular quick somersaults (key X). The game implements a different intensity of the sound of steps arising on the surface of various materials, therefore, in order to maintain secrecy, the user, as conceived by the authors, would have to carefully think over the routes of movement. Also in the documentation for the demo, it was mentioned about the implemented reduction of the visibility if your character is in the shadow, and not in the illuminated area. A spectacular opening intro with a real shootout is made on scripts right in the game engine. In the demo, at the very beginning of the gameplay, you will even be offered a short tutorial on controlling the character's movements. Three "classic" types of weapons will be available in the game: 9mm pistol, shotgun and M16 automatic rifle. After training, you will be able to find the way through the hole in the fence to the port warehouse, where armed members of an influential criminal group are on duty - this is where the action begins. In total, the demo offers two locations: a short section (open area) in front of the entrance to the warehouse and the warehouse itself, which is a large covered area with boxes, stacks, forklifts and other thematic content. Dialogues with NPCs are provided. At the entrance to the second location, a stylishly dressed girl with a somewhat dubious level of social responsibility (... maybe she is an embedded agent working undercover?) Will tell you in detail about where and how to go through the entire warehouse, about places where the least protection. In principle, all the bandits can and so "fill up" brutally openly, without hiding in the nooks, but still worth a try in the demo - go through the warehouse in stealth mode. The graphics are presented in 800x600 screen resolution by default, which was already considered the minimum for those years. Strong diffuse blur is implemented from any light source. Detailing, texturing and animation of 3D character models - everything is at a very high level. After the termination of work on the project, the authors simply took and posted all the sources and the final build of the demo to the public.
