A little bit away from the Outer Base is a similar installation called the Ment Base, which has the same sort of purpose as the Outer Base complex. One of the soldiers who joined the "Bitter Man" in the initial wave of air-to-surface marine delivery to the surface of the planet of Stroggos, got stuck mid-air for a little longer, and only made surface contact after the initial wave had been defeated at the hands of the Strogg. This soldier got assigned the task to find the elevator that descends deep into the planet of Stroggos, that connects with the mines. And this elevator is close to where the Ment Base is located. |
