MindRover: The Europa Project CogniToy 2000

While doing research on one of Jupiter's moons, Europa, the people in the station take small mining machines used for research and modify them to play a game called MindRover. In essence, you take a chassis and build a machine. The machine you need to build will vary on the type of activity you're set out to do (racing, seek & destroy, etc). You place items on your chassis (radars, thrusters, rockets, etc) that you think you might need to help you win. Next, you wire (or program) your machine with specific instructions on what do. So for example: if you come too close to a wall, you will want to steer away from it. So you will link your sensor to your thruster telling it to turn 45 degrees in the opposite direction if something enters the sensor range. The rover is then moved to the competitive arena and set free to take on all competitors. In one arena, the competition may be a race, and players would likely choose small, fast vehicles with sensors tuned for staying on the course and avoiding obstacles. But in the very next room, the goal may be simply to be the last robot standing, in which case it might be a good idea to festoon a tank with a whole array of weapons, along with radar units to guide them. The game includes puzzles, mazes, treasure hunts, and other unique problem-solving tasks. MindRover RCX Pack features new scenario pack called "Robot Fun" that gives you 18 new components that simulate physical and logical components that can work with the LEGO RCX system, it also includes two model RCX robot chassis that you can use within MindRover.
