The return of the well-known "tanchiki" (as the owners of the NES clones called the 1985 Battle City game), now on Windows. True, the return is not entirely complete, since this work from a developer from Kiev is still not a 100% clone. Players go through 71 levels, which can be passed alone or together, fighting with an army of rivals, or even arrange a duel on the same maps. If that's not enough - welcome to the level editor. The gameplay is exactly the same as in the old console original. We again need to destroy hordes of enemy tanks, avoiding their shells and protecting the command post, hitting which will lead to complete loss. The tank can destroy brick walls, sometimes collecting bonuses that appear right in them, and, of course, opponents - however, until the already fired projectile reaches any object, it will not work to make a new volley. There are several types of enemy armored vehicles, and one model is able to withstand 2-3 hits. As for the graphics, the author followed the canons of the NES version, so the picture is only slightly different from the original. Supported resolutions are 320x200, 640x400 and full screen mode. For graphic variety, a 16-bit version of the picture is proposed. |
