Alpha Strike:Retribution (or AS:R for short) is a classic 2D vertical scroller which is freeware. There was a trial version of a game called "Alpha Strike" (still on the old homepage), but the sources and most of the data for the old "Alpha Strike" were lost. There is now a completely new Alpha Strike, with the latest technology and snazzy graphics. Features: Nice graphics with alpha blending, z-buffer and texture filtering - all hardware accelerated with DirectX 8; Complete storyline around the missions; DirectInput8 ActionMapping (any control with any DirectX-compatible input device; you can play AS:R with a steering wheel for example); Cooperative two player mode; Using your own music (mp3s); Particle systems as far as the eye can see; Lens flares and coronas, etc.; Huge explosions. |
