Fallen Earth combines the accuracy of first-person shooter style games with the depth and character advancement of a role-playing game. Set near the Grand Canyon in 2156, Fallen Earth takes place after plague and nuclear holocaust decimate 99 percent of Earth’s population. Remaining survivors are left to unravel the mystery in the Grand Canyon Province, the last bastion of civilization. Fallen Earth allows players to align with one of six factions to claim control of towns and assert their philosophy on the rebuilding of civilization. Players can utilize the real-time crafting system to make 95 percent of game items—including the best gear, weapons and vehicles—as they explore more than 1,000 square kilometers of territory and 70 towns. Mankind teeters on the edge of extinction and players are thrust into a decaying society. Will you rise above the hardships or embrace the surrounding destruction? In June/2011, GamersFirst bought the game and will convert it to a free-to-play model scheduled for Q4/2011. It will give free players completely unrestricted permanent access to every zone and instance in the game. Several types of services, items and conveniences will continue being sold in the Fallen Earth store. Subscriptions will be replaced by a tiered membership system that caters to players of all levels of engagement, and each membership will include reward points that can be used to obtain store items for free on a monthly basis. The game was shut down on Oct 14/2019 as the developer was planning to reboot the game. However, due to player demand the classic version was again brought back in Oct 27/2021. |
