After centuries of captivity, domestication and consumption the chickens almost had their revenge. Their ancestors from the far reaches of the galaxy arrived on Earth in order to try and exact revenge but our forces drove them back. But all is not safe on the galactic frontier as a new armada of chicken invaders prepare their assault on humanity. The only thing between them and us is you. This is the third part in the Space Invaders clone series of games which features chicken themed humor and parody of popular sci-fi movies and games. You pilot a one manned space ship and shoot with six different types of weapons and have free range of movement (I suppose that could be a chicken-related joke too). These weapons have twelve different levels of strength which you'll need in order to win medals and advance through the twelve star systems of the game. There is also online play which is up to four player co-op and an online high score table. Online play is through LAN or internet. Christmas Edition includes appropriate Christmas carols and decorations on enemies. Some enemies have been changed completely to fit into the themes such as the snowmen. Weapon colours have also been altered to look a bit more festive and items dropped by enemies have become appropriately festive. The game has the same 120 levels to get through as the original. There are still six weapons and they can be upgraded to eleven levels and a secret 12th level, which can only be reached by acquiring an additional 10 powerups after the 10th level powerup (the 20th). There are also eight which are unlocked after repeatedly completing the game. The number of bonuses, secrets and medals have also remained the same. This edition of the game has its own high-score table on the developer's website to which players can upload their scores. Easter Edition Prepare your Teflon-coated helmet for colored-egg action in this version which replaces end bosses with bunnies and Easter eggs as well as other items related to the theme. A later CD version of Revenge Of The Yolk also contained both the Christmas and Easter Editions. | ||
