Retrofire GAD Zombie 2008

The primary idea of this game was to recreate the old classic from the 8-bit computers 'Rescue on Fractalus' by Lucasfilm Games. But I also wanted to connect it with another old game named Retrofire which was a 3D version of Lunar Lander. In Rescue on Fractalus you fly over the planet Fractalus and find lost pilots. You must fight with the alien forces and return to the base. The game is a 3D simulation that had mind blowing graphics back in the day. Lunar Lander is a quite simple game. You land on the flat surface fighting with gravity. Retrofire is a similar idea but it's in isometric view and you move in 3D space. Very impressive game as for the times when it was created. So, I connected these ideas, added couple of my ideas and used the OpenGL to render 3D graphics. Player must finish 25 levels. After finishing the main scenario, you will start again in the random generated scenario with new 25 missions. You will find a few flat places to land and to rescue the survivors. There are also the enemy landings and the aliens will destroy your lander when they get inside. But you can kill them all. There are also enemy turrets that will shoot you and flying enemy aircrafts. You can fly over the planet and shoot them. After taking the rescuers you must return to the mothership and leave them there. Everytime you rescue a man, he will give you some fuel. You'll get an upgrades in a shop between the game levels. You don't have to take survivors in every level. In some levels your mission is to destroy the enemies. 15 years after the initial release in 2023, the same developer further updated the game with: Sandbox mode - do whatever you want! You're immortal and have infinite everything; New survivors acting, including watching around, better physics, more intelligent walking and more; New mission task - dogfight; Rewritten mountains generator - now generated landscapes looks better than the handmade in main scenario. Try it in random game mode; New cinematic camera; Funny big headed survivors mode enabled by cheat code; New cheat codes.
