This was a free browser-playable game made by the former Red Baron staff at Mad Otter on the InstantAction website before it was shut down. The year is 1916. War rages across Europe. For the first time ever, men will take to the skies in cages of wood and canvas. Far above the trenches soar the aces of the Great War. Little is known or understood about air combat – these pilots must invent the tactics and skills to survive and succeed. “Aces of Aces” puts you in the cockpit of the biplanes of the Great War. Will you choose to fly for the Allies in the nimble Sopwith Camel or the sturdy SPAD? Or will you fly for Germany, with its more vividly painted aircraft, including the feared Fokker Triplane? Fly online with or against your friends in multi-player matches, or hone your skills in single-player challenges. Will you excel in the dogfighting tactics necessary to survive and succeed? The best will become Aces, and only the very best will become the Ace of Aces. There are 10 different plains, 5 Allied models and 5 Axis models from which to choose from. Game Types: Team dogfight - Team based deathmatch; Furball - Player vs Player Deathmatch; Foxes and Hounds - The player grabs the fox, a dead parachuter, and trys to hold it for as long as possible while others try to kill the player and take the fox from them. Whoever holds the fox the longest wins; Rescue the spy - Classic team based capture the flag, with aircraft; Base War - Two opposing teams have to protect their bases from being attacked while they assault the other team's base for points. shooting down the enemies blimps makes their flak cannons less accurate. |
