This was a fan-made Fallout inspired RPG that combined a post-catastrophic environment with a "Manchurian Candidate" style theme of mind control and implanted devices, leaving the player character stranded in a wrecked bunker, troubled by strange transmissions and visions, for a retro-future sci-fi adventure. It has strong storytelling and a character development component. As a victim of secret military "mind-control" experiments, you battle oppression and evade the watchful eye of "tronic" operators to an uncertain freedom as a surface survivor. Static is set somewhere in a war-torn United States. The once thriving superpower, has now been devastated and brought to ruins from nuclear warfare. Deep underground, in a long forgotten secret military facility, survivors of this cataclysm now struggle against another, more omninous threat, the loss of their own free will. The Tech-Demo contains the first game level. The full game was never completed. |
