You're the famous square-jawed detective in this graphic adventure based on
the movie adaptation of the comic book. Track down criminals and solve cases using
your two-way wrist radio, squad car, and bugs you plant in the bad guys' hideouts.
Suspects behave differently depending on their personality: Some will cooperate, while
others will interpret a show of force as an invitation to a gun battle. It's a fun
action/strategy game which combines furious platform shootout sequences with
sleuthing elements of collecting and analyzing clues to determine the suspect's
identity. Gameplay involves jumping into your patrol car and hit the streets in
search of clues and informants, while battling thugs and hauling in crime figures for interogation. The game is reminiscent of Sierra's Police Quest in that you, as Dick
Tracy, typically would patrol around the city, waiting for mission calls from your
boss. After a characteristic "I'm on my way" response, you will need to hit that
siren and get to the crime scene. Good fun, with freedom of movement despite quirky
controls and illogical clues that seem to be placed at random each time you play. |
