Enter The Story: Les Miserables Chris Tolworthy 2009

One of the most enduring literary tales is Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, and at long last the classic French novel is coming to PC. An independent production begun by Tolworthy ten years ago, Les Misérables marks the first interactive novel in a planned series called Enter the Story. Though the developer refers to it as "more like a book than a game", it most closely resembles a "classic 'point and click' adventure game, with some refinements. Gameplay is simple: you explore, you listen, or you suggest." With its unique minimalist art style and faithful adaptation of the original story, Les Misérables invites players into the world of 19th century Paris, focusing largely on ex-convict Jean Valjean as he seeks redemption from his past. The game is available for purchase and download directly from the official website for $14.99, and an optional plain CD version is available for $10 more. The purchase price includes all the next installments of Enter the Story. You can also buy one installment alone for $7.99. In July/2010 this first episode was released for free as promotion for the series with the release of the 4th installment.
